The stone entry sign simply reads "Whitehawk Ranch." Perhaps there should also be an advisory sign that warns, "Caution: Entry may cause addiction to a unique, refreshing lifestyle." Many who have crossed this threshold swear they were instantly overcome with an inexplicable sense that Whitehawk Ranch is a special place where they want to live. No one knows for sure if it's an enchanted valley forest, but there is a incomparable feeling about this expansive, old ranch property nestled against the eastern slope of the Sierra in the Mohawk Valley.
